Hamed Wardak on Generating Employment in Afghanistan

Hamed Wardak attempts to generate local employment in Afghanistan.  But Wardak is not the only one trying to improve the job situation for the people of Afghanistan.  For example, in May, two municipal landfills were being developed which would keep over a thousand Afghans in work for around three months.  As well, plans to improve Shajoy’s main bazaar road have given work to four hundred Afghans work.  What this means in terms of money is that of the more than one million dollars set aside for this project, Afghan workers will be taking home over 95% of it.  Employment in agriculture in the very near future is planned for the construction of four major mega water dams, funded by Afghan’s central government.
